Planning a 2027 trip to Moldova

NPC members are developing a small group to discern where God is leading NPC in ministry for Moldova, building on the nearly 35-year history of the relationship between NPC and Christian brothers and sisters in that country.

There are five key aspects of these plans:
  • Consider the conceptual framework of the NPC as both a “confessional and missional church,” as Dr. Hylton described in his “Mercy in Action” sermon (September 28, 2025 see at 46:34)
  • Engage in discipleship study and involve younger NPC members
  • Plan for monthly meetings from March though December 2026
  • Re-start the regular prayer time for Moldova
  • Plan with UDG a collaborative ministry trip to Moldova in the spring/summer 2027, where Dr. Ray Hylton and Judith would be members of the team.
For further information on these plans or if you would like to consider participating, please contact NPC UDG liaison Susan Fickling or David Wallace or Howard Frost.

Church visit and lunch with Valeriu Ghiletchi, February 1, 2026

NPC members welcomed long-time friend Valeriu Ghiletchi to worship on Sunday, February 1 and to a luncheon and “Fireside Chat” afterward. Participants enjoyed asking Valeriu about his family, church, and work during lunch. Near the end of lunch, hosts Howard Frost and David Wallace had a “Fireside Chat” where they interviewed Valeriu on key topics of ministry, life, and politics in Moldova. The main topics were:
  • The 2024/2025 Presidential Election, EU Referendum, and Parliamentary election
  • The role of the church in Moldovan society and the role of civil society in Moldova – rule of law, justice, challenges for the society
  • Moldova’s role in Europe – stability, security, the EU, Russia, Ukraine

Dr. Ray Hylton acknowledges Valeriu during the service.

“Fireside Chat” with Valeriu Ghiletchi, February 2025

NPC members taking advantage of Valeriu Ghiletchi’s attendance at the National Prayer Breakfast in February 2025, NPC member of the Moldova support team hosted Valeriu for a dinner and interview program on Sunday, February 2, at a local restaurant. Co-leads for the program David Wallace and Howard Frost developed a set of four questions that they thought would be most interesting for the audience.

The interview may be found here, and the summary here.
